Commodity futures positions
Who holds commodity futures: the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission's weekly Commitments of Traders report (disaggregated, futures only) for 30 markets since 13 June 2006. Grains (wheat, corn, rice), oilseeds (soybeans, canola), softs (cotton, sugar, coffee, cocoa, orange juice), livestock, base and precious metals (copper, aluminum, gold, silver, platinum, palladium), energy (WTI, Brent, natural gas, gasoline, diesel) and lumber, on CBOT, CME, COMEX, NYMEX, ICE Futures U.S. and MIAX.
Each report gives open interest and the long, short and spread contracts of producers/merchants, swap dealers, managed money, other reportables and non-reportables, with net positions and the change since the week before. Positions are as of Tuesday and released by the CFTC on Friday at 15:30 US Eastern. Counts are contracts, not prices: futures prices are licensed exchange data. Source: CFTC (public domain).
